                                            The Lane                                                                                                               The Cottage
 

Little Lewdon can be found at the end of a private lane about a quarter of a mile long, surrounded by mature trees in the totally secluded and tranquil place which is Lower Lewdon. The cottage has its own drive with parking and turning space and parking, for visitors or larger vehicles is available. There is a totally private area of 'wild garden' and a small fenced lawn area. Apart from our house (which is just visible at the left edge of the cottage picture) there are no other properties within sight.

The cottage is a small barn conversion, completed in 1995, with its own access from the lane. There is ample parking space and a patio with a slate topped table and several garden chairs for al fresco eating. The original external staircase that led to the hayloft now leads to a small balcony which is also accessible from the main bedroom.

The Lower Lewdon holding of 15 acres lies alongside a Cornwall Wildlife Trust reserve of 14 acres. The surrounding farm land belongs to Lewdon Farm & Hessaford Farm. The reserve and much of our land are the subject of a Countryside Stewardship Scheme intended to restore rare Culm grassland and encourage species diversity. 1200 trees, mostly native hardwoods, were planted in 1994. Guests are welcome to walk our land and the reserve area and the public footpath network can be reached, with the kind permission of John & Gill, via Hessaford Farm.
